The green highlighted values indicate the ideal conditions for right angle bending; using a punch with a radius equal to the metal thickness and a die opening approximately 8 times the metal thickness. The resulting bend will have an inside radius that is approximately equal to the metal thickness.

If the stock exceeds ½ inch in thickness it is a good practice to increase the die opening to at least 10 times the metal thickness.

multiplying the estimated force by the appropriate adjustment shown in the table below...
